The custody of five Maoists, lodged in the Central Jail here, was extended till November 2.

The Maoists, Roopesh, his wife Shyna, Anoop, Kannan and Easwaran were arrested

some five months ago from Karumathampatti and were lodged in the Jail here. As some
of them were involved in a few cases in Kerala, they were taken to that State periodically.

With tight security, all the five were produced before the Principal District Judge, Pongiappan, who extended their custody till November 2.

While being brought to the Court, Anoop shouted slogans seeking removal of police
forces from Kerala forest areas, police said.
