Marathon to abolish child labour

In a bid to sensitize the public against the practice of child labour, Coimbatore-based Fusion media and Entertainment is organizing a marathon in the city.

The marathon is scheduled to be held on June 12. Registrations have already started. Participants can register for the five-kilometre or the 10-kilometre run. All proceeds raised through this initiative will be used in various projects to eradicate child labour.

The marathon will be flagged off from the VOC Park grounds. The organizers have announced cash prize of Rs.1 lakh for winners in various categories. All participants will be provided with t-shirt, breakfast, certificate, and a medal.
