Measures being taken to make Coimbatore covid-free district

Coimbatore, Apr 19 : A total of 36 persons have recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged from ESI hospital so far even as 127 persons
are undergoing treatment, the District Collector, K Rajamani said today.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a review meeting to inspect the preparedness of preventing the spread of the disease in nearby Pollachi, Rajamani said that three persons were tested Covid-19 positive from in and around Pollachi area.

All steps are being taken to prevent the spread the disease, including the spraying the disinfectants in the locality, he said.

Being second in the list of most persons affected by coronavirus attack in Tamil Nadu, measures are being taken to make Covid-19-free district shortly, he said.

The second lock down period is the most important phase and people should cooperate with the Government by following the section 144 and also social distancing, he said.

Sub-Collector, Vaidyanathan, SP Sujit Kumar and senior district and health officials were present during the review meeting.
