Milk producers in this region have decided to stage demonstration protesting against the ban on sale of cattle for slaughter across the State. Association sources said that producers were selling the cows only after they reached a stage of not being milch ones, and feeding them would be a strain on their finances.

Also, the producer was buying another milch cow with the money he received after the sale, they added.

If the ban to sell cattle for slaughter was imposed, the producers in the region will go for an agitation as their livelihood would be at stake, the sources said.

They wanted the government to reconsider the decision or else unrest would spread across the State, they warned.
