National Doctors’ Day Celebrated at VGM Hospital; Eminent Doctors Honored for Outstanding Medical Service

National Doctors’ Day was celebrated at VGM Hospital through a joint initiative of the VGM Foundation and the Association of Alliance Clubs International (District 250 S), recognizing the invaluable contributions of the medical fraternity to society.
The programme, held at the VGM Hospital Auditorium, was presided over by Alliance District Governor G.Sundaram, who formally inaugurated the event.The function was graced by District Joint Director of Health Services Dr.V. Sumathi, VGM Foundation Managing Trustee Dr. V.G. Mohan Prasad, and International Alliance Clubs Director N.Rajan as special guests.
On the occasion, 14 distinguished doctors from Coimbatore district were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards and Distinguished Doctor Awards in recognition of their exemplary service and dedication to healthcare. The awardees included Dr.Basanthi (Dagha Dental Clinic), Dr.Kanaga Sabapathy (Vedhanayagam Hospital), Dr.P.S.Rajan (ELCE Hospital), Dr.Senthil Kumar (Abirami Hospital), Dr.Saravana Kumar and Dr. Nalangili (GEM Hospital), Dr. Vamsi and Dr.Nalini (VGM Hospital), Dr. Devasena (Chief Medical Officer, Annur Government Hospital), Dr.Thippaiah T. (Thondamuthur), Dr.Muruga Boopathy (Chief Medical Officer,Kottur Government Hospital), Dr.Vani Rangaraj (Chief Medical Officer,Thondamuthur Government Hospital), Dr.George Thomas (R.S. Puram, Coimbatore), and Dr.Amarnath (Joint Director of Health Services Office, Coimbatore).
Former District Governors Lion Gunasekaran, Lion Vijayakumar, Lion T. Srinivasan, and Lion Rajeshkumar delivered felicitatory addresses, appreciating the commitment and selfless service rendered by doctors.
Adding significance to the occasion, the Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore Trust honoured the doctors of VGM Hospital for their dedicated medical service. As part of its social responsibility initiative, the club also extended financial assistance towards the dialysis treatment of a kidney patient. The contribution was made in the presence of President Veena Shankar, Secretary Parvathi Ravi, and other members of the Inner Wheel Club.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr.Suman, Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon, VGM Hospital. Doctors Dr.Madhura Prasad, Dr.Mithra Prasad, and Dr.Vamsi Moorthy from VGM Hospital also participated in the celebration. Alliance Club District Secretaries Ravindran and Roy Thomas, Cabinet Advisor Balasubramaniam, President Dr.Subhadra Iyengar, along with Alliance Club members, doctors, dignitaries, and well-wishers, were present.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Alliance District Second Deputy Governor S. Prabhakaran.
