National-Level Equestrian Champions League Show Jumping Competition Begins in Coimbatore

The Equestrian Champions League, a national-level show jumping competition organised by the Equine Sports India Federation,Affiliated by Equestrian federation of India commenced in Coimbatore. The competition is being held at Equine Dreams ground in Molapalayam, near Vellanai Patti, Coimbatore.
The competition was inaugurated by Mr.Sundar ramakrishnan, Managing trustee – SNR trust,A.S. Sakti Balaji, President, Equine Sports India Federation,Dr.R.Mahendran,Founder – Expovan,Dr.R.C.M.Vishnu prabhu – ambassador.for trade INDIA ASEAN Trade council and the owners of the participating teams.
Six teams from six states are participating in the league, with six riders in each team, taking the total number of participants to 54. The participating teams are Chennai Bulls (Tamil Nadu), Pegasus Sports (Kerala),Golconda Chargers (Telangana), Bengaluru Knights (Karnataka),and Elite Equestrians (West Bengal) and Quantum Reigns (Goa). Skilled equestrian riders from across the country are part of these teams.
As part of the opening ceremony, equestrian riders showcased impressive riding skills and stunts before the audience. A demonstration of the competition format was also provided. The horses captivated spectators as they raced across the arena and cleared challenging obstacles.
Competitions in various categories will be held on August 28, 29 and 30.
Speaking about the event, A.S. Sakthi Balaji, President, Equine Sports India Federation, said that the show jumping competitions will be conducted in three categories — 100cms, 110 cm and 120 cm. The performances of the riders will be evaluated by judges accredited by the Equestrian Federation of India based in New Delhi. A competition course designer from Sharjah has designed the course for the league.
A total prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh will be awarded to the winners across the various categories.
The Equestrian Champions League, launched in 2024, successfully completed its first season in July 2025. The league was created to bring together some of the country’s finest equestrian riders and provide audiences with a competitive and engaging show jumping experience.
The competition on Sunday will be attended by K.A. Sengottaiyan, Hon’ble Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Tamil Nadu; S. Kamali, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry; and MLAs Sukumaran,Sathyabama and Tamilselvi.
The prize distribution ceremony will be attended by popular film actors Arya and Shaam.
