Naval and Air Chiefs visit Defence Services Staff College

Udhagamandalam : In tune with the high profile visits of late, the Chairman,Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lamba visited the prestigious Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) at Wellington near here over the weekend.

Addressing the student officers of the 73rd staff course.he complimented them for displaying professional standards of a very high quality while undergoing professional military education at this premier defence institution. He exhorted them to be always prepared to confront the challenges of the future and handle their responsibilities with equal elan. He underscored the importance of achieving joint operational efficiency. The Chairman COSC acknowledged the fact that the DSSC was a fountainhead of knowledge and professional wisdom in jointmanship and has been successfully producing outstanding staff officers for command and staff functions in the Indian Armed Forces.

Earlier interacting with the Commandant,DSSC Lt.General Amrik Singh the Naval Chief appreciated the transformation of the staff college and lauded the exceptional standards of training being imparted to select tri-services officers of the Indian Armed Forces and also officers from friendly foreign countries.

An extensive briefing on training and administrative aspects relating to the college were given to the Naval Chief.

A couple of days earlier the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal B.S.Dhanoa visited the DSSC.He also addressed the student officers and interacted with Lt.General Amrik Singh.
