NE monsoon to bring normal rainfall to TN

The Agro Climate Research Centre of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has forecasted normal rainfall (plus/minus 10 percent of average seasonal rainfall) in most of the districts in Tamil Nadu during the North East monsoon (October to December) this year.

While Chennai, Erode, Tirupur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Madurai, Pudukkottai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kanyakumari, and Krishnagiri are likely to receive normal rainfall, places like Coimbatore, Karur, Tirunelveli, Villupuram and the Nilgiris can expect above-average monsoon.

The historical rainfall data collected from the University Research Stations were used to for the district rainfall information.
