Newly wed couple seek police protection

A newly married couple on Thursday met the City Police Commissioner here and sought protection from their relatives.
According to police, Blessie of Nagarcoil, doing her IAS after completing Engineereing degree, married Nithu, a driver by profession, with whom she was in love for the last one year, on November 30.
In the petition given to the Commissioner, the couple said that since Blessie’s parents were against their affair, they came to the city on November 29 and got married at a temple in Podanur.
As a police official, a relative of Blessie, was threatening their friends in their native place and in view of this, they were seeking protection from the department, police said.
