Coimbatore : An octogenarian was trampled to death by an elephant in Poluvampatti forest area on the outskirts today. The 82-year old Ramasamy of Nalloor village was passing along the banks of Noyyal river, when an elephant suddenly appeared and attacked him, police said.
Some passersby noticed Ramasamy lying injuried and immediately took him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said. The body was sent to the government hospital here for post mortem.
