One tonne PDS rice seized

Police on Wednesday seized one tonne PDS rice from a van, reportedly being smuggled to Kerala.
According to police, the rice, kept in 10 gunny bags, was seized during a routine vehicle check at Chettipalayam.
The rice was meant for supplying through PDS and belong to near cooperative society.
The vehicle with Kerala registration, along with the rice bags, have been handed over to authorities and further investigations are on.
