Osai transplants 45-year-old peepal tree

A 45-year-old peepal tree (Ficus Religiosa) was transplanted from Kuruchi kulam area to Fire Bird Institute of Research and Management in Chettipalayam by City-based NGO Osai.

According to K. Syed of Osai the other NGO’s that participated include Siruthuli, RAAC, Pasumai Deasam and Kurichi Kulam Paadhukappu Iyakkam . “The organisation has so far saved around 26 trees from being felled. Due to the extension work going on in the Pollachi Highway Road, we are transplanting this tree to a place where it will remain safe and taken care of,” he said.
