Coimbatore : Attributing the sudden spike in the Covid-19 positive cases to a recent meeting organised by some organisations with the public and workers, the district collector, K Rajamani today appealed to the political parties and organisations to avoid such meetings in future.

Despite lock down and government guidelines, many political parties and organisations are conducting meeting with public and workers, which result in possible spread of coronavirus infection, he said in a release.

Such meeting held recently resulted in the surge of positive cases in the district, he stated.

In view of the coronavirus infection scare and prevailing lock down, which was not completely relaxed, all political parties and organisations should avoid organising meetings with public or workers, he said.
