A pastor was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 17-year old girl in nearby Kotagiri, in Nilgiri District, over a period of time.

Pastor Aruldas was running a prayer hall and home on Mettupalayam-Annur Road in Nilgiris District and after seeing the plight of a devotee, with three girl children, he advised to send one girl with him on the promise of giving her education.

After a few months the mother had gone to meet her daughter and she was shocked to listen to her daughter complain that she is being sexually assaulted and tortured by the pastor. Following this a
complaint has been lodged with with the police.

The girl was then made to undergo a medical examination at the Government Hospital at Ooty. Examinations revealed that she was sexually assaulted. Based on this Aruldas, a
resident of Katteri, near Coonoor, some 20 Kms from here, was arrested.
