As an initiative of cashless transactions, PayTMs have been successfully installed in all the shops in Karunya University campus and hostels here.

The initiative was in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign, as the varsity believed in going hand-in-hand with the noble initiative and decided to go digital too.

“Going cashless not only eases one’s life but also helps authenticate and formalise the transactions that are done and accordingly PayTMs are installed in all shops in the university campus and hostels,” a Varsity release said .

To motivate the students, faculty and staff, an assembly was held at the campus, in which 8,175 persons participated, it said.

Being a student driven campaign, a video on the model Digital Village Akodara-Gujarat was shown and the talk was given by students on the Digital India initiative and the benefits of cashless transactions, the release added.
