Coimbatore : In order to give more thrust to exports by MSMEs, Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) is developing a convention centre cum Permanent-Display Centre at its building complex in the city.

The facility would display all the products manufactured by the industries from this region and will be a one-stop shop for foreign buyers to ensure their requirements, CODISSIA President, R Ramamurthy said in a release on Sunday.

This will help improve exports from the region substantially, he said.

The association is also in the process of developing two state-of-the art industrial estates, which are nearing completion, he said.

These estates will house about 300 new industries, with an investment of Rs.2,000 crore and give direct employment to about 10,000 workers and indirectly to another 20,000 people, Ramamurthy said.
