In the aftermath of the murder of a temple priest near Singanallur on Friday, members of the Indu Makkal Katchi (Tamil Nadu) have petitioned the District Collector Archana Patnaik requesting the administration to give full protection to temples and priests in Coimbatore, here on Monday.

Ravi, the State Coordinating Secretary of the Party, stated that the murder of priest Mani has set off fear among the temple priests of Coimbatore.

“Incidents like these show that Hindu priests are not safe in Coimbatore and their safety should be ensured at all costs,” he said. Requesting the Administration to punish the murderers, he further stated that the safety of the priests would be ensured only if justice is served.
