Petition to repair road

Residents of K.K. Chavadi petitioned District Collector Archana Patnaik to repair the road between K.K. Chavadi to Ettimadai, here on Monday.

Residents have said that the 3-km stretch NH road between the two areas was largely damaged by the monsoon rains.
“The road is being used by hundreds of vehicles and thousands of people daily and the condition has been poor for the past 10 years,” said S.C. Shanmugam, a resident of the area.

They lamented that the recent rains have further worsened the road condition that the Highways Department had failed to maintain.

He further added that because of the worst road conditions vehicles plying on the road were prone to accidents. Accidents usually occurred when vehicles had to take sudden turns to avoid potholes.

“We request the District Administration to lay a new bitumen road in the area for the welfare of the people,” another resident added.
