Police seize 14 buffaloes, 8 cows for being transported unlawfully

Police seized eight cows and 14 buffaloes being transported in a lorry at KG Chavadi near Madukkarai on Wednesday.

The lorry driver has been remanded in custody.

According to police, the cattle were being transported all safety measures and violating the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. While the driver Rajarajan of Sathankudi in Kadalur district was arrested and remanded in custory, the cattle were kept in safe custody at Krishna Kesalai at Palathur.

Police has directed lorry drivers to follow the rules while transporting cattle.
