The R K Nagar by-poll has turned out to be a platform to recognise between the faction led by T T V Dhinakaran and AIADMK, BJP Rajya
Sabha MP, L Ganesan said today.
It was a myth that DMK will have an upper hand in view of the split in AIADMK and the people of the constituency still have shown the respect for late chief minister, Jayalalithaa, Ganesan told reporters here.
Stating that this was the victory of Jayalalithaa, Ganesan said that AIADMK, which was pushed to second place, should introspect about the results, which would have been different if it was a single entity.
On his party, Ganesan said that people had not considered that BJP was also contesting, which was a factor to be thought about.
Stating that the result was on expected lines, he said that there was no point in blaming the voters in the elections.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker in the Lok Sabha and senior AIADMK leader Thambidurai said that the result has proved that DMK was not able to
break the Jayalalithaa citadel and its campaign has no impact on the people.
Stating that the announcing the verdict in 2G Scam amounted to violation of election code, Thambidurai said the people have voted keeping in mind that there was corruption in the Spectrum allotment and CBI should take note of this.
Meanwhile, hardcore loyalist of Dhinakaran and Karnataka party secretary, Pugalendi said that the victory has proved that he was the only leader capable to lead the party and become chief minister.
