Following the recent launch of Post Shoppe in Chennai, Coimbatore Head Post Office (HPO), opened their first shop on August 21. Now, you can indulge in something more than just postal functions.

Ranging from Isha products / books, Thirukkural CDs, stationery, philately items, jute bags, T-shirts to photo frames and many more, Post Shoppe offers a pleasant distraction at the HPO.

“We aim to build an atmosphere where people can explore and buy some interesting things they find during their visits to the Post Office,” said Manju P Pillai, Post Master General.

She also added that the Department would continue to come up with such endeavours to keep up with the trend. Pack Post was such an initiative.

“Though it started a few months ago, people are not so aware of it. Anyone can make use of this facility for a reasonable charge. Even the most fragile item will be packed safely with the help of modern devices,” told Ms. Pillai. She also added that a Parcel Hub to process the courier items was opened recently in the city.

Soon, Post Shoppe would soon be launched in Salem and Ganapathy.

Being the most successful Government sector in the country, India Post was getting geared to face private competition with many customer friendly services and facilities like e-money order and e-post.
