Students of PSG Educational Institution here in the city protested the management decision to secure the release of only the students of own college protesting for Jallikattu, leaving students from other colleges to their fate.

The students from different colleges were protesting at the VOC park when police cracked down on them and picked up several students.

The PSG management tried and secured the release of their college students.

Though relieved at the release of their college mates, the 3000 strong student community of the PSG Institution held a protest outside the premises and expressed their strong resentment against the attitude of the college authorities.

The PSG students also demanded that all the students arrested be released unconditionally, without any cases filed against them.

Sources in the college however denied this and said that the management after talking to the police personnel had told the students that of them including those from the other colleges would be released by evening.

The police subsequently released over 800 students by evening of which several were girl students.
