PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (PSGRKCW), one of Tamil Nadu’s premier institutions dedicated to women’s education and holistic development, formally inaugurated its Student Council for the academic year 2026–27 at the PSGRKCW Alumnae Golden Jubilee Hall on Thursday.
The inauguration marked the beginning of a new chapter in student leadership, with the institution reaffirming its commitment to nurturing responsible, confident and socially conscious young women. The ceremony commenced with an invocation, followed by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr.R.Nandini, Chairperson of the GRG Educational Institutions, highlighted the significance of the Student Council in shaping future leaders. She urged students to cultivate leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, integrity and social responsibility while making the best use of the diverse academic and co-curricular opportunities offered by the college to enhance their personal and professional growth.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Dr.P.P.Harathi, Principal of PSGRKCW.Addressing the students, she called upon them to uphold the institution’s values and traditions with sincerity, dedication and ethical conduct, while striving to become responsible citizens committed to serving society.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sivakumar Ganesan, Vice President, Veranda Learning Solutions Limited. Stressing the importance of lifelong learning in an increasingly competitive world, he encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills, embrace innovation and remain adaptable to changing industry demands.
He also underscored the growing importance of industry-relevant competencies, effective communication, critical thinking, ethical leadership and a commitment to continuous learning as essential attributes for career success. He advised students to prepare themselves with confidence for emerging employment opportunities in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Jeysika Varshini K., President of the Student Council, who expressed gratitude to the management, chief guest, faculty members, staff and students for their wholehearted support and participation.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful launch of the Student Council for the academic year 2026–27. The event reflected PSGRKCW’s continued emphasis on fostering leadership, unity, service and responsible citizenship among its students.
