Accusing parties like DMK and CPIM of politicising the suicide of medical aspirant Anitha, Puthiya Tamizhakam today sought a CBI inquiry into the entire episode.

Puthiya Tamizhakam president Dr K Krishnasamy said there is the need to set things right. He pointed out that Anitha had spoken to a private channel when she said she would take agriculture course and help farmers issue as
she failed to get admission to medical seat.

It needs to be proved whether she was forced to commit suicide or was murdered in a ‘novel way,’ by being
taken to Delhi and the help provided by persons like Gajendra Babu and Shivashankaran, he said.

The State Government should recommend a CBI inquriry, he said adding that he has sought a meeting with Tamil Nadu
chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami and the Union Home Ministry in this regard.

He feared that politicising the matter, especially in the backdrop of protest against NEET could spread chaos across the country. This could prove dangerous especially during the next Assembly elections.

He condemned DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi for describing him a puppet in the hands of BJP and pointed out that her party was earlier in alliance with the BJP and ruled the country for six years.

It was also because of his party’s support that she became an MP for which he had to face the wrath for former chief minister Jayalalithaa, he added.
