Tamil Nadu’s first EPIQ Luxon and India’s largest LED Cinema screen to debut alongside the 14th EPIQ screen

Coimbatore, 13th September 2026 : Qube Cinema and Karpagam Grandplex are set to bring two premium cinema experiences to Coimbatore with the launch of EPIQ and EPIQ Luxon at Karpagam Grandplex. The launch marks the debut of Tamil Nadu’s first EPIQ Luxon and the 14th EPIQ screen. The EPIQ Luxon installation will also be the largest LED Cinema screen in India.

Bringing together two distinct approaches to premium cinema presentation, the new auditoriums are designed to give audiences a heightened movie-watching experience through advanced image and sound technologies, immersive acoustics and a carefully designed cinema environment.

EPIQ: Premium Large Format with 4K RGB Laser Projection

The new EPIQ auditorium will feature Barco 4K RGB Laser projection, delivering high-resolution imagery with enhanced brightness, contrast and colour performance. The projection system is equipped with a custom high-contrast lens that will further enhance image contrast and visual depth, bringing greater richness and detail to the big screen.

EPIQ is designed around the principle that every element of the auditorium, from image and sound to viewing environment works together to enhance the movie experience.

EPIQ Luxon: An Immersive LED Cinema Experience

The EPIQ Luxon auditorium introduces a fundamentally different approach to premium cinema presentation, using LED Cinema technology instead of traditional projection. Rather than projecting an image onto a screen, an LED Cinema display generates the image directly through its individual LED pixels.

This enables exceptional brightness, deep blacks, high contrast and consistent image quality across the screen. For audiences, this translates into a more vivid and impactful image, particularly in scenes where contrast, colour and detail are critical.

The EPIQ Luxon at Karpagam Grandplex is an acoustically-transparent LED screen. The technology allows sound to pass through the screen, enabling speakers to be positioned behind it as is ideally required for high-quality immersive audio presentation.

The launch marks the first EPIQ Luxon in Tamil Nadu, while making Karpagam Grandplex home to India’s largest LED Cinema screen.

Designed for an Uncompromising Cinema Experience

Both auditoriums feature MAG Audio with Dolby Atmos and have been designed with all-black interiors, with no reflections to distract from the cinema experience.
