AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi called on ailing chief minister J Jayalalithaa at Apollo Hospital on Friday, spent somne 40 minutes with doctors and ministers there and later told media persons that she was getting better.
“I came from Delhi to see the CM because I wanted to give my support and the Congress president support. The doctors say her health is improving and she is going to be all right. I wanted to give maximum energy to Jayalalithaa ji so that she gets well soon,” Rahul Gandhi told media persons before driving off.
The Congress vice president landed in Chennai in a special aircraft at around 11 a.m., when the local police came to know of his sudden plan to come calling on chief minister at Apollo Hospital, where she was admitted on September 22 night.
Rahul’s motorcade reached the hospital at 11.50 a.m and only his vehicle was allowed inside the building where Jayalalithaa was admitted on the second floor.
She is under treatment by a panel of doctors that includes three specialists from AIIMs in New Delhi.
After spending some 40 minutes inside the hospital, Rahul Gandhi told media persons

TNCC president Tirunavukkarasu accompanied the Congress vice president on his visit to the Apollo Hospital. Source said that finance minister O Panneerselvam was also present at the hospital during the visit of Rahul Gandhi.
