Rama Mohana Rao is new Chief Secretary

P. Rama Mohana Rao was today appointed the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. He replaces Gnanadesikan, who has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation for appointment as its additional secretary, which was held by C.V. Sankar.

Rama Mohana Rao will also hold full additional charge of the post of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner of Administrative Reforms, which was held by his predecessor.

Retired IAS officer Shanta Sheela Nair has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister’s Office, according to an order from the Public Department.

Shiv Das Meena, who was holding Food and Consumer Protection Department, will serve as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Secretary, Fisheries Department, has been posted as Secretary to the Chief Minister.

This the first major reshuffle in the top bureaucracy in Tamil Nadu since the AIADMK formed the government recently.
