Randomisation of EVMs for Thanjavur poll

In view of the November 19 elections for the Thanjavur constituency, randomisation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was done at the office of the election section functioning at the Thanjavur collectorate today in order to have transparency in the allotment of EVMs to polling stations.

The computerised allocation of EVMs was done in the presence of Collector A Annadurai, election observer Sheik Ahamed, returning officer C Suresh and representatives of all the recognised political parties.

A total of 276 polling stations have been set up to facilitate voting and 317 control units and ballot units are ready for polling, Annadurai said.

Later, the collector and election observer (general) inspected the work of personnel at the media monitoring cell and the election control room.
