Renowned Cardiologist Dr. Thomas Alexander Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at TIC 2026

Eminent interventional cardiologist, KMCH Senior Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Thomas Alexander has been conferred the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 11th Annual Conference of the Tamil Nadu Interventional Council (TIC 2026). The award recognizes his extraordinary leadership, pioneering work with the STEMI Project in India, and over three decades of dedicated service to cardiovascular medicine.

The award ceremony took place during the annual flagship conference held from July 17 to July 19, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Chennai. The honor was formally presented by the Hon’ble Speaker of Tamil Nadu, Mr. J.C.D. Prabhakar and Dr. K.G. Arunraj, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Dr. Alexander has authored over 30 research papers published in leading international medical journals, the International Journal of Cardiology, the British Medical Journal (BMJ), and Paediatric Cardiology. Dr. Alexander is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC), and the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI). His recognition at TIC 2026 reaffirms his lifelong commitment to improving cardiac healthcare access and outcomes across India.
