CPIM Politburo member, Brinda Karat, today described it a shameful act the exercise by some Central Ministers, including Prime Minister, to show a report card of Governance to the RSS.

“It is a shameful act and sheer violation of Constitution and Parliamentary democracy to show a report card to RSS and its organisations, which do not believe in the fundamentals of the constitution,” Brinda Karat told reporters at the city airport.

Let them give report to the people, why RSS, she questioned, adding that the exercise of handing the report directly to RSS was a shame on the country.

When asked about condition of women in India, the CPIM leader said that the Narendra Modi Government had utterly failed to implement the Verma Committee recommendations (on sexual crimes) and also create a secure atmosphere for the women in the country.

The Government in the last one year had also failed to create a frame work, for the State Governments to follow, she said.
“What is the situation in Delhi ? It is capital of rape, which is directly under the control of the Home minister,” she said.

When asked about the fall of Land Acquisition Bill, Brinda said that Modi was forced take back the black Bill, which wanted to snatch the land without the consent of the farmers, due to united opposition.

Stating that Modi was forced to retreat on the land Bill, Brinda said that similarly, after two general strikes in September, the Government will be forced to withdraw the labour laws, which was against the rights of workers.
