Rs.11.5 lakh seized from two vehicles

Coimbatore : Flying Squad Teams on Tuesday seized unaccounted cash of over rs.11 lakh during vehicle check at two places in the city.

The squad seized rs.5.51 lakh from a vehicle, belonging to a private firm, without any valid documents, in Lakshmi Nagar in the city.

Similarly, another team recovered rs.six lakh from a passenger of a bus proceeding to Palakkad at Sundakkamuthur junction, the elections department sources said.

Though the passenger, Subramanian, claimed that the money was meant to be paid for transport lorries, there were no no documents to support it.

The seized money was deposited in the treasury, they said.
