SAINT-GOBAIN INDIA PVT. LTD. – GYPROC BUSINESS COMMISSIONS INDIA’S FIRST NEAR – NET ZERO GYPSUM CEILING TILES PLANT IN VISAKHAPATNAM

Coimbatore March 2026: Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd. – Gyproc business, a leader in light and sustainable construction solutions, commissioned India’s first Near-Net Zero Gypsum Ceiling Tiles Plant in Visakhapatnam. This milestone reinforces the company’s commitment to the Make in India vision while strengthening its ability to serve the growing demand for high-performance ceiling solutions across the country.
“This investment strengthens our manufacturing footprint in India and enables us to scale low-carbon ceiling solutions closer to key markets. The Vizag plant reflects our long-term strategy of integrating sustainable manufacturing with operational excellence to meet the evolving needs of commercial and institutional segments, while building resilient and future-ready manufacturing capabilities in India.” said Sudeep Kolte, Managing Director, Saint-Gobain Gyproc India.
Commissioned in December 2025, the state-of-the-art plant has an annual production capacity of 5 million square metres and will manufacture Gyprex® PVC Laminated Gypsum Ceiling Tiles. Its strategic location enables faster market access, consistent quality, and adherence to global manufacturing standards. The plant is equipped with advanced systems, including a modern dust collection system, underscoring the company’s strong focus on operational excellence, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship. Products manufactured at the facility comply with BS EN 520 and BS EN 14190 standards, ensuring superior durability and performance for commercial and institutional applications. This first Near- Net Zero Gypsum Ceiling Tiles plant is aligned with Saint-Gobain’s global sustainability roadmap of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050.
Through this investment, Saint-Gobain India continues to strengthen local manufacturing while delivering innovative, sustainable solutions for India’s evolving construction needs, while driving customer-centric and environmentally responsible growth.
