Members of the Tamil Nadu Sanitary Workers Association have demanded two months’ salary as festival bonus.

In their petition to District Collector, T.N. Hariharan, the association’s coordinating secretary, Veera Subramani, said there were more than 1500 sanitary workers with the Coimbatore Corporation working on contract basis.

“The State Government has announced bonus to other contract workers. But nothing has been announced for us so far,” he said and urged the administration to recommend two months’ salary as bonus.
