School child Vaishnavi takes to yoga on her way to Guinness

Coimbatore: S. Vaishnavi, a 10th grade student of Park Global School who has been practising yoga since she was nine appears all set to find a place in the Guinness Book of Records after a successful performance of three different types of yoga. The attempt was made in presence of Park Group of Institutions CEO Anusha R and adjudicators of the Guinness Book of Records.

The successful yoga performance included the fastest time to put six eggs in an egg bowl at 18.28 seconds against the earlier record of 21.52 and the fastest time to travel 20 meters in a contortion roll at 13.8 seconds against the record of 15.54 seconds. She successfully stood on her chin for seven minutes against the earlier record of two minutes.

S. Vaishnavi told mediapersons, “I had practised rigorously for the last 10 days to find a place in the Guinness Book of Records. I practised from morning till night daily without a break under the guidance of yoga teachers Ramu S and Lakshmanan S.”

“I am positive that I will achieve it,” said Vaishnavi who has participated in more than 550 district, state, national and international level yoga competitions and has won 250 medals till date, most of them being gold.

About her achievement Dr Anusha said, “At Park we identify and support our children with talents so that they excel in extra-curricular activities of their choice. I am more than happy having sponsored Vaishnavi and her sister’s education and also partly sponsored her international tournaments. She has never come home empty handed. She continues to keep the flag of the Park Global School flying high and she is also a motivation to our other children in the school. I am positive that the attempt will come through.”
