Founded in 2003, Siruthuli has been a pioneer in environmental conservation across Tamil Nadu. The organisation focuses on restoring water resources, promoting rainwater harvesting, undertaking large-scale tree plantations,implementing solid and liquid waste management initiatives, and creating environmental awareness to advance ecological sustainability.

Further strengthening its commitment to ecological restoration and sustainable community development, Siruthuli, with the generous support of its corporate partners, inaugurated 2 major green initiatives – Periyamman Kovil Vanam and KPK Vanam at Annur, Coimbatore.

Developed on a 20-acre HR & CE land, Periyamman Kovil Vanam, sponsored by J S Auto Cast Foundry India Pvt. Ltd., comprises 10,000 saplings, and KPK Vanam, sponsored by Bull Machines Pvt. Ltd., 7,500 saplings.These Vanams have been envisioned as vibrant green spaces to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and create long-term environmental value for the region.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday, 19th February 2026 at 3:30 PM at Annur, Coimbatore.The event was graced by Sanket Balwant Waghe, I.A.S., Additional Collector, Coimbatore;Usha Nandini, Assistant Commissioner, HR&CE Department, Coimbatore; Sravan Senapati, DGM – Finance, JS Auto Cast Foundry India Pvt. Ltd.; Parthiban, Managing Director, Bull Machines Pvt. Ltd.; and Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, along with Siruthuli members, local stakeholders, staff members, and representatives from the sponsoring organisations.

The plantation drive saw enthusiastic participation from 50 students of Sri Ramakrishna College for Women, 50 students from SNS College of Technology (Dept of Management Studies), and 30 students from Nava Bharath International School, reflecting strong youth engagement in environmental stewardship.

These initiatives reflect the common vision of Siruthuli and its corporate partners to create greener spaces through planned plantation drives, planting native species, and ensuring regular maintenance. The Vanams are designed to develop dense green cover, support local biodiversity, and strengthen Annur’s environmental sustainability.

Through KPK Vanam and Periyamman Kovil Vanam, Siruthuli and its partners reaffirm their collective dedication to environmental stewardship, inspiring communities to join hands in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Coimbatore.

Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli, shared that the organisation has successfully established 200 urban forests, planting over 10 lakh trees. She extended her heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Coimbatore, government officials, corporate partners, NGOs, and well-wishers for their steadfast support, noting that Siruthuli’s remarkable 23-year journey would not have been possible without their continued encouragement and collaboration.
