Feed the Abandoned, an initiative launched by Coimbatore-based NGO Small Difference, has successfully completed 150 weeks, and shows no sign of winding down.

Coimbatore-based Small Difference was established by Shobhana Kumar. Its founder shares with us that an informal group of friends and like-minded people came together in order to help people who need help the most.

Feed the Abandoned is one of the activities of the group. Week after week, the core members of Small Difference along with volunteers purchase packets of food and water and distribute them in a particular area in Coimbatore. Ever since Feed the Abandoned was started, the team has ensured that they reach out to the needy. Last week, this NGO celebrated the 150th week of the project.

Currently, Small Differences is helping patients who are admitted to Ward #95 at the Government Hospital (GH), Coimbatore, in cash and in kind. The founder of this NGO has invited people who are willing to pitch in any kind of help. As a part of their future projects, the core team and volunteers of this NGO are hopeful of providing patients at the Coimbatore GH three meals everyday, disposable sheets, adult diapers, gowns for patients, and toiletries like toothpaste, soaps, and disinfectants.

Small Differences has no dedicated projects that they work on. Like their name suggests, the people who are associated with this NGO do their bit in order to make a difference in the lives of many.
