Special condolence meeting for Kalam on August 3

The Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with local trade associations and NGOs, including CODISSIA, SIEMA, Rotary and Lions Clubs of Coimbatore, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, the Round Table of Coimbatore, and CREDAI, will hold a special homage for the former President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam, on August 3. The meeting will be held at Big Tank.

The meeting will begin at 6.30 PM with bhajans and prayer songs by Vijaya and group. This will be followed by a 20-minute long audio-visual presentation about Dr. Kalam, and a speech by Prof. Dr. T. Rajaram, former HoD of SVN College, Madurai. Tree saplings will be distributed to the participants and members of the gathering.

D. Nandakumar, president of ICCI, said that it was Dr. Kalam who had renovated the Big Tank two years ago. It is now the largest water storage facility in Coimbatore.
