Wipro Limited, a leading AI-powered technology services and consulting company, today held the 21st edition of the Spirit of Wipro Run, bringing together more than 72,000 global participants which included Wipro employees, family members, friends, clients, and partners.
Held across more than 70 cities worldwide, the annual event demonstrates Wipro’s commitment to ensuring that progress in business and society is responsible, inclusive, and sustainable.
In Coimbatore, over 1,100 registrants took part in the Run which started from Wipro’s Coimbatore Campus. Padma Shri Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman, KG Hospital, flagged off the run.
The event also saw participation from renowned athlete Nausheen Banu Chand, who was recently honored with the Kalpana Chawla Award. For every registration, Wipro makes a matching corporate contribution through Wipro Cares, the employee engagement arm of the Wipro Foundation, supporting more than 80 non-profit organizations globally.
The participating organizations work to improve access to healthcare and education for underserved communities and promote environmental sustainability. Thus, making it one of the world’s largest employee-led charity fundraiser runs.
