In a rather bizarre request, a letter reportedly from Tamil Nadu has been sent the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, requesting that a spitting smiley be introduced on the social media site.

Reportedly written by a Zerina, the letter has further stated that the current ‘like’ smileys provided by Facebook were not appropriate enough to comment on the current political scenario in Tamil Nadu.

The social media platform had recently introduced five additional ‘like’ options, including love, laughing smiley (ha ha), wow, sad and angry faces, along with the traditional thumbs-up like button, and the introduction was welcomed by and large by the Facebook community.

However, Zerina says, “All the ‘like’ options are very useful, but looking at the chaos and confusion, and various statements by the politicians of Tamil Nadu, the options are not enough to comment on the situation.”

Zerina further added that only a spitting smiley would be apt to comment on the issue.

“The political drama going on is much bigger than cinema and is very interesting. Hence, kindly include the smiley,” the person said in the letter handwritten in Tamil.
