Sri Ramakrishna Hospital to Celebrate Golden Jubilee; Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan to Grace the Occasion

S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust is set to host a grand celebration marking the 50th Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital and the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital.

Addressing the media today,Dr.Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust,shared the historic journey and the details of the upcoming commemorative event.S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust was established in 1970 with a vision of “Humanity-focused Healthcare.”Driven by the mission to provide high-quality medical care at an affordable cost, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital was inaugurated in 1975 across a sprawling 18-acre campus in the heart of Coimbatore.

Over the decades, the institution has emerged as a pioneer in the healthcare sector, introducing the city’s first MRI scan and consistently upgrading to state-of-the-art medical equipment and advanced cardiac care facilities.

The hospital has hit several significant milestones over the past half-century. In 1990, it recorded its first successful kidney transplant.A historic moment occurred in 2005 when the late former President of India, Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, visited the campus to inaugurate the specialized Oncology department. In 2015, the trust further elevated its standards by investing approximately Rs.250 crores to establish a world-class, advanced multi-specialty center.

Today, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital stands as a premier healthcare destination with 1,000 beds, technologically advanced Intensive Care Units (ICUs), 16 modern operation theaters, and specialized centers for emergency care, cardiology, and organ transplantation. Notably, the institution entered the Guinness World Records in 2016 when 13,206 individuals signed organ donation pledge forms within a single 8-hour window,showcasing the hospital’s commitment to social responsibility and public awareness.

Simultaneously, Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital celebrates 25 years of excellence in dental education and clinical care. Known for its international standards, the college features advanced laboratories, specialized clinics, and pioneering “Smile Design” technology. By providing affordable dental care to the public and nurturing highly skilled professionals who now practice globally, the dental wing has carved a niche for itself in the medical community.

“Sri Ramakrishna Hospital has always been a socially responsible, state of the art hospital in Kongu Region. Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital has been one of the top 5 dental colleges. Both institutions have served the public, especially those live in the tribal and rural parts in and around Coimbatore, and other parts of Kongu Region,” Dr.Sundar said.

“We have established ourselves a technologically-advanced medical institution in Coimbatore in these 50 years, we aspire to invest in the most advanced medical systems and equipment, in the next 50 years and be the best hospital in Kongu region to give the best care with the state of the art technology,” he added.

“We also have expansion plans in mind. We will be expanding in the rural regions in and around Coimbatore,” he said.

The joint celebration of the Golden and Silver Jubilees will be held on January 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. The Honorable Vice President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan, will attend as the Chief Guest. The event will also see the participation of prominent political leaders, high-ranking government officials, and leading industrialists. Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan attributed these 50 years of success to the unwavering dedication of thousands of doctors, nurses, staff members, and the continued trust of the public.
