The fifth edition of the SSVM Transforming India Summit, aimed at preparing young minds to navigate emerging challenges and opportunities, commenced in Coimbatore on Monday.

Being held under the theme “Adapt to the Future,” the three-day summit is scheduled from August 31 to September 2 at SSVM World School, Coimbatore. The event brings together accomplished personalities from diverse fields to engage with students and share insights from their professional and personal journeys.

The summit focuses on preparing students not merely for academic examinations and careers, but for life itself. Sessions and experiential activities are being organised around mental resilience, physical fitness, emotional well-being, nutrition, exercise, discipline and leadership, among other areas.

Among the prominent personalities participating in the summit are Indian astronaut Air Commodore Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, Indian cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad and Bharatanatyam exponent Rukmini Vijayakumar.The summit will also feature interactions and sessions by writer Chetan Bhagat, actor and motivational speaker Ashish Vidyarthi,entrepreneur Aman Gupta, historian Manu S.Pillai, astronaut Rakesh Sharma and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, among others.

As part of the initiative to recognise and encourage innovation among students, the Studentpreneur Awards 2026 will be presented to young achievers. The Inspirational Guru Awards 2026 will also honour teachers for their contribution to shaping and inspiring students.
Speaking about the summit, Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Founder and Managing Trustee of SSVM Institutions, said education should go beyond preparing students for examinations and employment.

“Education should prepare students for life by developing the resilience to face failures, the confidence to adapt to changing circumstances, and the awareness to take care of their minds and bodies,” she said.The summit seeks to provide students with exposure to diverse perspectives and inspire them to become adaptable, resilient and responsible individuals capable of responding confidently to the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
