Stanes CBSE School celebrated its 10th Annual Day with pomp and enthusiasm on Friday, commemorating a decade of academic excellence and holistic education. The event witnessed the participation of the management of Stanes Educational Institutions, faculty members, parents, alumni and hundreds of students.

The celebrations were graced by Mercy Oomen, Chairperson of Stanes Educational Institutions, Philip R. J. Fowler, Correspondent of Stanes Educational Institutions, and Dr.James J. Gnanadoss, Honorary Treasurer, who presided over the function.

The programme commenced with an invocation and the school anthem, followed by a welcome address from Mrs. Eileen Jethro, Principal of Stanes CBSE School. Presenting the annual report, she highlighted the school’s academic accomplishments, co-curricular achievements and steady growth over the past year, while reflecting on its remarkable journey over the last decade.
A series of colourful cultural performances by students showcased their artistic talents and confidence, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Special presentations tracing the institution’s 10-year journey added a nostalgic touch to the celebrations.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Philip R. J. Fowler recounted the inspiring legacy of Sir Robert Stanes, founder of the Stanes Educational Institutions. He said Sir Robert Stanes recognised the urgent need for quality education soon after arriving in Coimbatore through Podanur Railway Station, a vision that led to the establishment of Stanes School.

Fowler also recalled that Sir Robert Stanes founded Stanes Mills to create employment opportunities, a pioneering initiative that significantly contributed to Coimbatore’s emergence as the “Manchester of South India.” He further highlighted Sir Robert Stanes’ encouragement of the scientific and technological pursuits of visionary industrialist G. D. Naidu, underscoring his belief that education and industrial development must progress hand in hand.

The occasion also served as a platform to honour academic excellence, with meritorious students receiving prizes and certificates for their outstanding performance in public examinations and scholastic achievements. Congratulating the award winners, the chief guest urged students to pursue excellence through discipline, perseverance and a strong commitment to social responsibility.

Among those present were Governing Board Member Dr.Vigila Kennedy, Dr. Sucheeta Ramachandran, V. M. John, Chief Administrative Officer,Georgina, Principal of Stanes International School, P. A. John Stephen, Principal of Stanes Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Mrs. Zenette Jeyaprakash, Principal of Stanes ICSE School, along with members of the faculty, parents and students.

The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem, marking a memorable milestone in the institution’s journey of nurturing future leaders.
