Commemorating World Food Day today, Corporation Commissioner K Vijay Karthiyen released the No Food Waste Anthem sung by class eight student R Shruthi here.

Inaugurating Zero Hunger Hour organised by the Coimbatore chapter of the No Food Waste organisation, Vijay Karthikeyan launched a new vehicle to be used for the distribution and collection of foods. Around 500 food packets were distributed to the hungry and needy, between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm, which is the zero hunger hour.
