SUEZ Organises Tree Plantation Drive in Coimbatore on World Environment Day

COIMBATORE, June 5– To celebrate the World Environment Day, SUEZ in Coimbatore planted saplings at the Valliyammal Street overhead tank premises in Ramanathapuram under the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation area.
The drive focused on increasing the green cover area in the city and spreading environmental awareness among the public. The Plantation drive was headed by Mr. R. Gunasekaran, Corporation Educational Officer and Mr. R. Ezhil, Assistant Executive Engineer, Schemes, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. Mr. P. Gopalakrishnan – Team Leader, InfraEn (India) Pvt Ltd and SUEZ employees took part in the event with great interest and planted saplings inside the campus.
The campaign was carried out under the guidance and supervision of Sangram Pattanayak, Project Director, SUEZ – 24×7 Water Supply Project, Coimbatore.
“We want to support local civic authorities in making the urban environment cleaner and greener. This plantation drive is a small step towards that goal,” Mr. Sangram Pattnayak said. He added that taking care of the local ecosystem is a key focus for the team.
SUEZ currently manages the water supply services in Coimbatore city. Company officials stated that the firm remains dedicated to its environmental responsibilities and sustainable development through such community initiatives.
