Tirupur has achieved an export turnover of Rs.25,000 crore and domestic turnover of Rs.12,000 crore in 2016–17 and all these achievements have been made without having much infrastructure, mainly needed for a city to have this feat, he added.

The roads and construction of bridges including bridges over Noyyal River have to be given utmost priority to smoothen the traffic movement.
The population of Tirupur city has exceeded one million and is growing continuously, thanks to inflow of migrants labours, who need better housing facilities, labour quarters including amenities such as water, road facilities, he said.
