Teen wife files dowry harassment case against husband and in-laws

A teen-aged married girl has filed a complaint of dowry harassment against her husband and in-laws.

19-year-old Pushpalatha, a student of a private college, in her complaint to the All Woman Police Station said that she got married to one Saravanan in November 2015. she said that, within a few days of her marriage, her husband and his family began harassing her to bring more money from her parents.

When she refused, Saravanan, along with his parents and sister, threatened to ‘finish’ her.

The police have registered cases against Saravanan, his parents and sister, and are investigating.
