Coimbatore : Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker,l M Thambidurai on Monday dared DMK to announce whether it backed AICC president Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate.

It should also spell out who the candidate of the DMK-Congress alliance would be.

Reacting to DMK president M K Stalin terming AIADMK as a ‘circus’ and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘ringmaster’, he told mediapersons that DMK should know that there were “lions and tigers in the circus”.

“If DMK says it will select the Prime Minister after the polls, it will be a drama. DMK is not ready to project Rahul because of its indirect understanding with BJP,” he alleged.

The AIADMK was not in any alliance for the Lok Sabha polls and would win all the 40 seats contesting alone, he said. The Prime Minister would be elected after the elections. AIADMK was not bothered about the verdict in the case of disqualified MLAs, he said.

Refusing to comment on the CBI inquiry against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palanisamy, Thambidurai said he was “giving good governance without any blot and will complete the full term”.

About MeToo, he said it was an opportunity for women and action can be taken if there was any truth.
