Coimbatore : Three persons possessing arms and ammunition were held on Thursday for poaching flying fox in Narusipuram area on the city outskirts.
Forest department officials on rounds in the area coming under Poluvampatti forest range noticed the persons moving in a suspicious manner and nabbed them, department sources said.
On search, they recovered a rifle, seven live cartridges, a knife, cooked meat and a dead flying fox in their bag.
The poachers were identified as Sureshkumar of Anthiyur in Erode and Sasikumar and Jayaprakash from the city outskirts.
