Three wagons of a goods train, carrying cement bags to Kerala came off the track near Irugur railway station, some 12 km from Coimbatore today.

The cement laden goods train was travelling from Erode, when the last three wagons derailed around 11.30 a.m., police said.

Even as restoration operations are continuing, two trains – Gurudev Express and Dhanbad-Alapuzha Express are waiting for clearance for the last three hours, they said.
