The 36th Annual Convocation of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will be held on August 17.
Tamil Nadu Governor, Dr. K. Rosaiah, also the Chancellor of the university, will preside over the function, while State Agriculture Minister and Pro-chancellor, R. Vaithilingam will announce the New Endowment prizes and medals.
Dr. Susan McCouch of Cornell University, the U.S. will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address.
Dr. Susan, Dr. Pedro Medrano Rojas, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Senior Coordinator, New York, and Ashok Bakthavathsalam, Managing Director, K.G. Information Systems Pvt. Ltd, will be conferred honorary degree of Doctor
of Science (Honoris causa), on the occasion.
A total of 1,170 candidates in person and 389 candidates in absentia will be awarded degree certificates.
